Dresden. Famke Boonstra vervollständigt das DSC Volleyball Team im Außenangriff für die Saison 2023/24 und folgende. Die 21-jährige Niederländerin unterschrieb einen Zweijahresvertrag mit dem Verein.
„Ich freue mich sehr, meine Karriere bei einem Verein wie Dresden fortzusetzen“, sagte die 1,94 m große Spielerin, die zuletzt in Belgien aufschlug. „Ich bin mir sicher, dass es eine große Chance für mich sein wird, eine noch bessere Spielerin zu werden und mich auch menschlich weiterzuentwickeln. Ich hoffe, ich kann dem Team helfen, unsere Ziele zu erreichen.“
Cheftrainer Alexander Waibl sagte: „Famke ist eine talentierte junge Angreiferin, die sowohl in der Außenannahme als auch auf der Diagonalen einsetzbar ist. Ich bin gespannt, wie sie die neuen Herausforderungen meistern wird und freue mich darauf, sie auf ihrem Weg zu begleiten!“
Famke begann bereits mit acht Jahren Volleyball zu spielen, entschied sich aber erst mit 17 ihre Laufbahn in Richtung Profikarriere zu lenken. Sie spielte in den verschiedenen Altersklassen der Jugendnationalmannschaften in den Niederlanden und trainierte bereits mit dem A-Nationalteam. Der Dresdner SC wird ihr fünfter Club sein und ihre zweite Auslandsstation. Während der letzten Jahre absolvierte sie außerdem ein Studium der Sportwissenschaften, welches sie diesen Sommer abschließen wird.

Famke Boonstra completes the outside hitter lineup for Dresdner SC
Famke Boonstra completes the DSC volleyball quartet in the outside attack for the 2023/24 season and following. The 21-year-old Dutchwoman signed a two-year contract with the club.
„I am very happy to continue my career with a club like Dresden,“ said the 1.94 m tall player, who last served in Belgium. „I’m sure it will be a great opportunity for me to become an even better player and also develop as a person. I hope I can help the team achieve our goals.“
Head coach Alexander Waibl said, „Famke is a talented young attacker who can be used on the outside as well as on the diagonal. I am excited to see how she will master the new challenges and look forward to accompanying her on her way!“
Famke started playing volleyball at the age of eight, but did not decide to steer her career towards the professional ranks until she was 17. She played in the different age groups of the youth national teams in the Netherlands and already trained with the senior national team. Dresdner SC will be her fifth club and her second stop abroad. During the last few years, she also completed a degree in sports science, which she will finish this summer.
